The San Cristóbal of Havana Villa,
was the most western in the seven villages been founded by the
Spanish conqueror Diego
Velásquez. Since their foundation in the year 1515 had
several locations, until in 1519 it was located definitively
where it is today the Old Havana. In the year 1774 began to be
built a wall to their surroundings, construction that concluded
in 1897. However with the step of the time the city grew inside
and outside of her giving place the modern Havana.
Havana, with
their more than two million inhabitants, today political, cultural
and economic heart of Cuba, was not always the
capital of the country until the year 1553 when due to the increase
of its economic
importance its became the commercial center of the Caribbean and
one of the most important colonial groups in Latin
America.
